Background and Brief History

Incorporated in 2006, OxiCool is a Philadelphia based C Corp that has developed the energy-efficient Idle Reduction technology, with the primary aim of deploying it in medium- and heavy-duty trucks in North America (NA) and Europe (EU). The Company plans to eventually extend its areas of application to the Home air conditioners, two-wheeler markets in Asia, US military, and other applications.

Technology

OxiCool’s unique molecular sieve-based cooling technologies differ from traditional systems in three primary ways. I. OxiCool’s system runs on heat energy, a clean, efficient source of power that can significantly reduce operating costs. II. The closed-loop system uses water as its refrigerant, which can cycle an unlimited number of times with no environmental impact. III. The system does not require a compressor, increasing the system’s functionality on hot days and minimizing maintenance requirements.

Application Areas and Geographical Reach

The Company has planned two product offerings initially from the many different potential applications:

TruckCool: Air conditioning technology for medium- and heavy-duty trucks in NA and EU market

HomeCool: Home and Small Buildings Air conditioner using the same core technology as TruckCool with natural gas as primary energy source

Products & Services

TruckCool, HomeCool

TruckCool: This product offering is an Idle Reduction Air Conditioner for heavy truck sleeper cabs. TruckCool runs primarily on diesel, uses water as a refrigerant, and has few moving parts. These attributes lead to significant fuel consumption savings, which are associated with sleeper cab cooling and runtime capabilities in excess of those required as per the laws and regulations. This technology also removes refrigerants associated with greenhouse gas emissions (by using water as a refrigerant) and also minimizes maintenance costs. This system assures a stable performance over longer runtimes than that of other competitive technologies with lower operating costs. This technology is expected to cut fuel cost by 90%. HomeCool: This is an air conditioning solution for residential and small buildings. The core technology is the same as in TruckCool. This technology capitalizes on the low cost and efficiency of natural gas and is expected to reduce the load on an electric grid by 40%.
