Corsair Engine Technologies
Corsair designs and will produce alternative replacement engines for existing small piston aircraft. Our engine design uses modern features and emission controls not currently available on original equipment aircraft. Corsair was established October 2016 and organized as a S-corporation in the Colorado Springs Opportunity zone. Our engine design uses modern features and emission controls not currently available on original equipment aircraft. Because Corsair’s designs use technologies and components from other industries, we realize a considerably lower development and production cost than all existing competitors. Moreover, our engine increases performance, reduces pilot workload, at a significantly lower acquisition and operating cost. Essentially, we can offer a better product at lower cost. Corsair is a disruptor to a legacy industry dominated by only a 2-competitor monopoly that’s been offering the same product for decades. Obtaining just 1% of the US domestic engine overhaul market creates a $3.8M profit based on just 200 Corsair Engine kits being produced. Corsair’s engine design or its performance is not theoretical. We have mitigated much of the investment risk by developing a flying, 90% production ready prototype, that the FAA has issued a multipurpose airworthiness certificate, and that has completed a rigorous 200-hour flight test program. Corsair is self-funded by founders, and without existing debt. The initial model can be revenue producing within 6 months of funding, with additional aircraft model engine kits added shortly thereafter. Projected margins exceed 40%, and meaningful patents curtail copy-cat followers and add long-term equity. Corsair is in a position to be first to market with the first engine product that significantly reduces cost to an existing customer base while decreasing its environmental footprint to a legacy industry long overdue for change.
